I took my troubles to the Lord;
I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer.
Rescue me, O Lord, from liars
and from all deceitful people.
O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you?
How will he increase your punishment?
You will be pierced with sharp arrows
and burned with glowing coals. Ps 120:1-4. David knew He could bring His concerns and how He felt to the Lord. There was no pretence in David, He was completely open before God in terms of what He needed and how he felt. It’s in that place of bringing everything before God including our feelings too that God can truly minister deeply into our situation at multiple levels, as at times we also need God’s help in dealing with our emotions. God can do so much more in our life if we’re totally transparent before Him. Praise God today that He’s our vindicator, deliverer and healer who desires to take care of all our needs.

    The pursuit of joy in God is not optional. It is not an extra that a person might grow into after he comes to faith. If you go about your days experiencing little fulfillment, you may be wandering from your God-given purpose. Fulfillment comes from doing rewarding, meaningful, purposeful things. From a job that taps into your skills and passions. From a relationship that involves giving and receiving. From hobbies that are invigorating instead of mind-numbing. Yes, you ll have to do certain things that are boring and unfulfilling, but if you re entire life is gray, you probably need a change.
