Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” Jn8:12. There is so much darkness in the world today. People committing horrific acts in the name of religion, governments committing genocide in the name of racial purity, we have growing crime rates in our own cities, all flowing from godless darkness. Jesus came into the world, as the light of the world, to break the bondages of darkness, hate and godless religion by revealing His love for a lost humanity. Jesus showed us the way of peace, to love one other, to be a blessing and not a curse, to love your neighbour as yourself, to forgive, to restore and to live content with whatever you have, valuing every second of every day. Thank Jesus today for being the light in our heart so that we can make a difference in our world.
