“You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. Mat 5:43-45a. When we learn to pray for those who persecute us,we will experience a change in the way in which we see them and any specific situations we are facing. When we pray,we engage our heart attitude that will also help release us from feelings of anger, animosity and other negative emotions that cause us stress and anxiety. God wants us to be free from such hurts, so as we pray for those who persecute us, we are releasing them into God’s care, that also reveals God’s love in us. The world desires revenge, not love, yet God says that revenge is His, not ours, so leave that to Him. Thank God today that His love knows no limits, and that as we pray for our persecutors,we will be blessed.
