Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. Ps51:10-12. David knew the presence of  the Holy Spirit in His life, he knew God’s joy and peace that left Him as he rebelled against God, but in His brokenness He returned to God and was lovingly restored. If you’ve lost your joy or peace, or your feeling distant from God,  search your heart, there may even be something you already know of that you’ve tried to rationalise away, but if your heart is not at peace, you need to come to the foot of the cross and ask for God’s forgiveness, restoration and guidance. God will never reject you if you come to Him with a truly repentant heart. Praise God today that His arms are always open wide ready to embrace us as we return to Him.
