And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul? Mat 16:26. Its possible to crave and strive for the things of the world, envy the lifestyles of the rich and famous and dramatically lose everything and pass into a lost eternity when you die. These things are gratifications of the flesh, they don’t create happiness and joy. You often hear of famous people committing suicide, or going into rehab, or their broken lives splashed across the media. Jesus promises those who love Him eternal life and shows us that we have  been created to find joy, peace and happiness in the simpler things of life that usually cost very little, such as loving others, learning to be content with whatever we have, wherever we are, and that the best things in life are shared and aren’t’ things! Thank Jesus today that in Him we have eternal life that has already begun.
