God asks us to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. Jm1:19-20. You have two ears and one mouth use then in that proportion. Misunderstandings are a major cause in arguments. We can psyche ourselves up with misconceived ideas and start blasting someone before we even to listen to a word. We should be very quick to listen and slow to respond as this allows us time to process what we have heard and form a response before we blurt out the first thing that comes into our head. Sadly some of the worst damage is done in the way a situation is dealt with rather than the situation itself. Thank Jesus today that His love for us isn’t dependant on our actions. Lets always respond to others in love as the way you respond and your actions tell others more about who you are than just your words.
