Jesus said forgiveness is not negotiable

“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. Mat 6:14-15. Jesus could not say these words any more clearly, forgiveness is what He has given us, so forgiveness is what we are also expected to give. However forgiveness is not trust, that needs to be earned. Forgiveness doesn’t mean you need to like or love someone, this too needs to be earned and progressively restored. Forgiveness sets us free from the hurts that others have inflicted on us, it’s crucial to release us into the freedom and peace that Jesus desires for our life. If you’re struggling to forgive someone ask Jesus and He will help you. As you take the first step, Jesus will guide you to the next. This may take time, but you must be willing. Thank God today that He has fully forgiven us, so we can forgive others too. Prayerchair.org
