If we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?
If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their Christian brothers and sisters. 1 Jn 4:20-21. God hates our sin, yet because of His overriding love for us, He sent His son, Jesus, to die on a cross. for our sins, to restore us to himself. If God’s love for us is so great, so must our love be for one another. We are God’s beacons on the earth. Strife, disunity and gossip will snuff out that light and repel those that God desires for us to reach. We must also not harbour any unforgiveness. Ask God to help you to forgive if you’re struggling with that as He will help you, if you are willing. Praise God today that He gave us love for Him and love for each other, so that our joy and happiness may be complete.
