Do your words build up or tear down?
A gentle answer. deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare. PR 15:1. Words are life. Words have the power to save and the power to tear down. Your words can be like a fragrance to your home or they can be like sharp knives. We can not control what happens to us, but we can control our response. Our response should be to defuse volatile situations rather that to fuel them. Its often easier to respond with the same intensity we face in a confrontation, especially if it catches us off guard, but its at those times we should pause for just a moment to let Gods love to filter our response. Love must always be our motivation and desired outcome. Let your words be a soothing balm to heal open wounds. Don’t allow the other persons temper or your temper to rob you of Gods blessing in that situation. Praise Him today that His precious Holy Sprint is there to guide you through the most volatile situations.
