DAILY WORD
We all need encouragement in our life. We send out Daily Words on weekdays via Email, Text or WhatsApp based on a verse from the Bible with a short explanation to encourage you and lift you up each day.

Words are powerful, use them wisely
There is more hope for a fool than for someone who speaks without thinking. Proverbs 29:20. It is very difficult to take back words that should not have been spoken, that can actually impact others for a lifetime. How many people are out there who are struggling because their parents kept telling them they were hopeless, or that they would never amount to anything. Name calling is so reckless and easy requiring no thought. Yet God wants us to speak lovingly in truth and reaso

Don’t let your love for God fade
"But I have this complaint against you. You don't love me or each other as you did at first! Revelation 2:4. When we take God or others for granted, we assume that everything is OK, we stop working on those relationships as if everything will continue to be just fine. But the reality is, if we don't work on our relationships each day, our love will begin to fade, and our relationships will drift apart. We need to keep our eyes on God daily, and think about others we care abou

We must be merciful to those who are struggling
And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. Jude 1:22. We must be supportive of those who are wavering in their faith or struggling with life. We all go through low moments and sometimes we need to draw from our own experiences in those dark places when dealing with others. It's easy to be critical or to judge others based on our own opinions, but unless we've truly walked in the shoes of others, been through their abuse, pain or suffering, who are we to judge.

Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted
Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Psalm 127:1. Often we can strive in our own strength and get nowhere. God has a perfect plan for your life that will not exhaust you or stress you out, although it will certainly stretch you and challenge you. When faced with critical choices seek God's direction first, and allow His perfect peace to guide you. If you have no peace then don't do it. Don't let pride or others push you in a direction you don't

What we sow into the lives of others will come back to us
I said, 'Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Hosea 10:12a. What we sow into the lives of others will come back to us. We have the ability to change the atmosphere around us through our words and actions. As we purpose in our hearts to do the right thing by others, and by God, we'll have favour wherever we go. Whilst we can't always control what happens to us, we can control how we respond. When we allow God's love to direct our actions,

Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy
Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. Psalm 126:5. Your greatest achievements and outcomes are often born out of your greatest struggles. Sometimes we embark on a challenge that seems to be overwhelming at times, and sometimes life can deal us a cruel blow that we need to struggle through. Don't leave your outcomes to chance, keep your eyes on God and prayerfully He'll make a way. God's timing is not our timing, so persist and never give up. The darkest ho

Don’t let anything take God’s place in your heart
Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God's place in your hearts.  1 John 5:21. With Jesus in our heart the door to our past hurts, failings and pains has been shut. Instead, He fills our heart with joy and hope for an eternal future with Him- that starts now. He is our peace in the midst of every storm, He is our strength in our times of weakness, and He makes the impossible possible in our life. When we keep our eyes on Him, He becomes our confidence. God wants relationship, not religion
I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices. I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings. Hosea 6:6. God wants relationship, not religion. He wants us to know Him, His ways and His heart rather than religious observance. It's in our relationship with Jesus that He fills us so full with His love that it will overflow to touch the hurting, to help those in need and to be there for those who are struggling. Real Christianity is when we let God's love flow through us

The love of Jesus changes us from the inside out
All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. 1 John 4:15-17a. When we invite Jesus into our heart there is a divine exchange- our worst for His best. He fills us with His love in such a way that we begin to see others differently, and we

We can love one another because God loved us first
This is real love-not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 1 John 4:10-11. We can love one another because God loved us first. He showed us the way to love with a heart of compassion and a desire to see us live life to our fullest potential. He sent Jesus into the world to pay a price that we couldn't pay so that we could be made right wit

People appreciate honest criticism far more than flattery
In the end, people appreciate honest criticism far more than flattery. Proverbs 28:23. People are far more grateful for those who are honest, who will share their thoughts, rather than for those who use flattery to be avoid difficult conversations. Honest criticism should be given in wisdom where knowledge is knowing what to say but wisdom is knowing how and when to say it. People will readily accept a word of criticism or reprimand when given with care and compassion rather

Walking in God’s ways brings freedom
But those who obey God's word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did. 1 John 2:5-6. When God fills us with His love it becomes our desire to love Him back and to walk in His ways. As we imitate Jesus, we'll discover a whole new way of living that will bring freedom and peace into every part of our life that we never thought possible. Instead of revenge you'll be qui

Jesus sets us free from the things that have held us back in our life
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.... If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 john 5-6,8-9. In light there is total freedom, no dark pl

Jesus came to give use eternal life
We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. 1 John 1:1-2. Jesus came to earth to reconcile humanity back to God, so that we could be made rig
