Jesus sets us free from the things that have held us back in our life

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.... If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 john 5-6,8-9.

In light there is total freedom, no dark places of pain or regret in our life as Jesus makes a way to set us free. God wants us to live in the light as He is in the light. It's the dark places in our life that weigh us down, and as we come to Jesus, He will truly set us free from the past, in an instant. Praise God today that He desires to set us free from the things in our life that have held us back so that we can live in the peace and freedom He has for us.
