Don’t let anything take God’s place in your heart

Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God's place in your hearts.  1 John 5:21.

With Jesus in our heart the door to our past hurts, failings and pains has been shut. Instead, He fills our heart with joy and hope for an eternal future with Him- that starts now. He is our peace in the midst of every storm, He is our strength in our times of weakness, and He makes the impossible possible in our life. When we keep our eyes on Him, He becomes our confidence. When we take our eyes off of God, and allow other things to creep into our heart through the busyness of life and changes in priorities, we can actually find ourselves losing our peace that gives way to stress, and our energy giving way to weariness. Praise God today that He only wants the best for us, and as we keep our eyes on Him, we'll sense His guidance and wisdom directing our life with greater clarity each day.
