Come close to God, and God will come close to you

Come close to God, and God will come close to you.  James 4:8a.

If you're not as close to God as you once were, who do you think moved? With Jesus in our heart we have the fullness of God dwelling inside of us, yet we allow the busyness of life to distract us and to slowly draw us away until we start hitting hard times, and then we turn back to God. The closer we stay to Him the greater resilience we'll have to handle life's stresses. The closer we keep to Him the more we will understand and see how He moves in our life. Our confidence in Him will grow stronger, so that when things do get tough, we can keep our eyes on Him and keep praising Him for the breakthrough even though we haven't seen it yet. Praise God today that the closer we stay to Him, the closer He will draw near to us, until we find ourselves abiding in His presence and perfect peace regardless of what's happening in our life.
