God’s Word directs us on communicating with others
Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Jm1:19. God’s Word directs us clearly on communicating with others. We have been given 2 ears and one mouth, we should use them in that proportion. We should always be quick to listen, to understand what is said, and before we respond we should pause, this will give us time to ponder and reflect on what we want to say. We must always be patient and slow to anger, in this way we can quell and put out any fires before they turn into infernos. If your facing difficult conversations remember the 3 P’s – Pause, Ponder and Patience. God can guide your words if you just pause and leave Him room before you blurt out a heated response that you can’t take back. Praise God today that He has given us power in our words, that if we use then wisely, will create favour with God and man in whatever we do.
