If we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?

If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? 1 Jn 4:20. Forgiveness is woven into the fabric of true love. God loved us, forgave us and kept loving us. Love has the propensity to make way for reconciliation and restoration. In fact this is not optional, it’s a requirement of God. If God could forgive our lifetime of wrongs and wipe the slate clean, then we too must learn to forgive as God forgave us. If you are struggling even with the notion of forgiveness, then ask God to help you. Forgiveness will release you from the pain of past offences and hand the matter over to God to deal with it. Praise God today for forgiving us and for giving us a fresh start. Ask God to search your heart for anyone you need to forgive to remove any potential barriers between you and God.
