It’s time to step out of the boat

Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. Mat 14:28-29. I believe all of the apostles could have stepped out of the boat and walked on water toward Jesus. Peter was not a particularly brave person as he did deny Jesus after Jesus was arrested, but what differentiated Peter was that He believed the words of Jesus. Jesus said he could, so he did. It’s time for some of us to step out of the boat to have the difficult conversation, to make the tough decision, or to take action. As we step out of the boat Jesus will be there for us just as He was for Peter. You will never learn to ride a bike by sitting on a sofa. You must step out to take new ground. Thank Jesus today that you are never alone, He is always with you, and together you can do anything!
