Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor. Pr29:23. Who we are on the outside mirrors who we are on the inside. God looks straight at the heart. John Wooden puts it so well. “Talent is God given. Be humble. Fame is man-given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given Be careful.” When we recognise what God has given us we should become gracious and humble as He truly has gifted us and blessed us,whilst pride is the total opposite. It’s self promotion that says everything comes from me,and I’m better than the rest. This is such a dangerous place where God opposes the proud. With gifts, blessings and talents comes responsibility to use whatever God has given us to the best of our ability, and then, when we get there, God will take it further than we could ever imagine possible. Praise God today that He loves us so much that He made us all unique with special gifts and talents just waiting to burst forth.
