Promotion comes through serving

He sat down, called the twelve disciples over to him, and said, “Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else.” Mk 9:35. God’s ways are not our ways. Man will strive at all costs to get what he wants, even to the extent of initiating wars. Yet God’s method of elevation is servanthood. When we place others ahead of ourselves we grow in stature in the eyes of man and God. At work when you make your boss look good, you will be noticed and promoted. At home when you put the family first peace and harmony will reign. When politicians put people first there is unity. When we put God first everything in our lives will come into order including our priorities and our desire to live a life that will bless God and others. Praise God today that His ways are perfect. Even though we may not always understand how God works, as we continue to trust Him, we will live a blessed life.
