Sometimes we need to deal with our own issues first before we offer to help others

How can you think of saying, ‘Friend, let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.Lk6:42. We are all on different journeys and struggles. Sometimes we need to work out our own issues first before we start offering help to others. When we deal with our own issues first we can often start to see the struggles of others in a different light so that we can impart Godly wisdom that can make a key difference. Our motivation will not be from a place of greater self opinion but rather from a place of understanding where we’ve been through it and seen God move. Praise God today that He will give us the strength to rise above our own struggles first, and then give us the necessary wisdom to step out and help others in a similar place.
