We must love others as we love our self

Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and only LORD. And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” Mk 12-29-30. Our God is a God of love. It’s His desire that we love Him with our whole being, just as He loves us. It’s also His desire that we love others as we love our self. Loving God and loving others is the gospel in action. As we love God, His love will overflow through us so that we can even love the unloveable. If we truly love God, we must love others too. This will not be a burden, but a natural response that flows from our relationship with Jesus. Praise God today, that its His love for us that makes it possible to love others even when we don’t feel like it.
